1965 fender musicmaster professional#
Of my new 12 string Gretsch Country Gentleman with Cream City was a transaction beyond perfect.īrian at Cream City was extremely helpful, honest, professional and communicative - and the guitarĪrrived in perfect condition two days ahead of schedule.

Neck dates to SEP '65.īody: Offset, solid poplar body refinished in red. Kluson Deluxe tuners are in good working condition. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Neck: Rounded maple neck with Brazilian rosewood fingerboard & mother of pearl dot inlays. Overall the guitar has a cool vibe though with a beautiful patina. Various nicks, chips, dents & dings scratches & weather checking throughout. Note models such as the Jazzmaster and Jaquar (1966) and the Musicmaster family (fall 1965) got these tuners before Strats and Teles (late 1967/1968). Tuner buttons were chrome plated plastic. It appears the original finish was actually blue as evidenced in parts of the body cavity & was then refinished red at some point. Fall 1965 to late 1970's: Fender had tuners made for them with a big 'F' stamped in the back cover. Professionally inspected & set up with fresh strings & low action.Ĭosmetic Condition: Lots of finish wear, particularly on the body. This one is really worn but still plays quite well thanks to the nicely rounded & somewhat chunky neck. I’ll ship with a cheap gigbag and include anything I’ve got for the guitar. The simplicity of these old Musicmasters is what makes them so attractive to players - just one pickup with a couple of control knobs & that's it really. Just needs a bridge to finish this project really. The tuners are repro as well as pretty much every else on the guitar Including the neckplate. Professionally refretted so it plays like a charm & set up by the. I really think it’s just miswired which is an easy fix. An excellent players grade Musicmaster II finished in an ultra cool Olympic White. The neck pickup either needs to be re wired or is dead as I wasnt getting any output.

Everything is wired up with a pre wired kit with a nice Centralabs paper in oil capacitor. This has a Duo Sonic pickguard with some Strat pickups mounted to it. That way the body was universal for Musicmaster or Duo Sonic. These were routed from the factory for two pickups. I don’t know why I talk myself into projects because I rarely have time for them. I got this guitar as it sits and intended on it being a project. Beautiful Daphne Blue finish with nice checking going on and some minor wear on the back.

This features a beautiful rosewood slab fretboard which is very desirable in itself. It’s a ‘65 Music Master II in beautiful Daphne Blue. Here’s a pretty quick and easy project for someone.
